![]() ![]() I feel like the graphics could have been tweaked a bit more to improve the overall visibility of the game without sacrificing the overall pace. Sometimes you die without realizing what happened to you. First, while I love the insane action, there are times when the pace is too fast and chaotic. There are only two things that I think could be improved to enhance the overall experience. Have I mentioned how stupid this game is and how much I like it for its stupidity? Man, that goose looks so cool in a mechsuit with sunglasses…. Not to mention the fact that you goose for no apparent reason to wear sunglasses while driving these vehicles. Since there’s always a wide variety of enemies to kill in the game, there won’t be any time when adding a mecha suit won’t be welcome. I really liked that the game allows you to order one if you can afford it, during each part of each level. They give you extra hit points, have infinite ammo, and can easily outflank enemies, though it’s a pretty risky move. The controls for the vehicles in Mighty Goose are exactly the same as in Metal Slug. Plus, you can always collect coins and spend them on new weapons and vehicles: Pause the game, go to the store and order a new fur suit if you can afford it. Fortunately, once you get through the first mission, you have access to allies who can provide you with passive bonuses that will help you live much longer than if you tried to play this insane game alone. Bullets fly all over the screen and you can barely pay attention to what’s happening. Mighty Goose’s gameplay is so complex that it feels unfair at times, but once you get the hang of the game’s mechanics and pick up a weapon other than the dreaded gun you get at the beginning of the mission, it’s complete chaos. Enemies constantly appear with powerful equipment, move like ninjas at a coffee party, shoot at you with extreme violence…. It’s totally awesome! When you charge Mighty Goose for the first time, there is a chance that you will die immediately after the second encounter with an enemy. It takes the drawing style, animations, and gameplay of SNK’s masterful action series, refines them a bit by adding brand new features, adds a new bird-like protagonist, and raises the framerate and pace to humanly impossible levels. This is literally the entire premise of this stupid game. Want to hear the best (and dumbest) elevator speech in history? Why don’t you check out the Mighty Goose presentation? Imagine Metal Slug, but you’re driving a goose and heavy rock is playing in the background. My favorite unlikely video game hero of 2021. There’s a brand new silly game featuring a waterfowl that wants to take first place in everyone’s heart, and it’s called Mighty Goose. Well, it’s time for another goose to take the throne, but this time it’s someone who really deserves it. ![]() And this from the person who founded the Wiseau Awards section for its love of rank stupidity in games. A game I enjoyed, but I think I’m the only person in the world who found it overrated and overrated…. It’s the first time we’ve written a review this long-form and the first time we’ve reviewed a game on the PlayStation platform.įor some absurd reason, the gaming world has been in love with geese since the release of Untitled Goose Game. When the game arrived we were really pleased with the purchase, and once we had a limited amount of time with it, we wrote up the review. It will honk in Japanese, English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Korean, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, and Polish.Back in October we bought a PS5 on the strength of an early hands-on with the game shown at a press event. Mighty goose release date Pc#Mighty Goose releases Saturday, June 5 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam for Windows PC for $19.99/17.99. “Mighty Goose is a modern take on the throwback run-and-gun of the 90’s, combining funny characters and crazy encounters with solid gameplay and fluidity of a modern game.” “Combining the goose character with something as action-packed as Metal Slug seemed like a really funny idea.” said Richard Lems, founder of Blastmode. A high-energy soundtrack by Dominic Ninmark (Blazing Chrome) complements the egg-splosive action. Preen invasive space creatures from high-security prisons, dangerous deserts, and ancient civilizations were all designed in high-quality pixel art by Richard Lems (KUNAI) with inspiration from classic and beloved run-and-gun games. Our goose hero might not win a foot race, but his accuracy and a wide arsenal of weapons send his enemies packing for the south. ![]()
